Happy Fourth of July!!!!! In the US or abroad, I hope you all have a chance to enjoy today. Here are some Walt quotes themed for the holiday...
"Laughter is America's most important export."
"Or heritage and ideals, our code and standards - the things we live by and teach our children - are preserved or diminished by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings."
"Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource - the minds of our children."
On Epcot - "It's like the city of tomorrow ought to be. A city that caters to the people as a service function. It will be a planned, controlled community, a showcase for American industry and research, schools, cultural and educational opportunities."
"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them."
"Actually, if you could see close in my eyes, the American flag is waving in both of them and up my spine is growing this red, white and blue stripe."

Article on Walt's Years in Kansas City
Jeff Pepper at 2719 Hyperion.com has written a really interesting article about Walt Disney's years in Kansas City, complete with pictures. While it tells the story of Walt's early years, at Benton Elementary School through his Laugh-O-Gram Studios years, the most interesting part of the article, for me, was what has happened to these historic places in the the years since Walt left.
It is worth taking a few minutes to read.
