DizNews:

Ouch!

Disneyland hotel workers, held a dramatic protest last night at the hotel complex. They staged a Los Posada procession - which re-enacts Joseph and Mary’s search for shelter on Christmas Eve. Children aged 3 months to 13 years, carried their written Christmas wishes to the entrance of the Disneyland Hotel where a union organizer told them that there was “no shelter here” for them. Dramatic for sure, hotel workers are protesting Disney’s most recent, and reportedly final, offer for a contract. At the center of the dispute is whether workers or the Walt Disney Company will pay for their insurance benefits, currently Disney pays all of their insurance premiums, which is one of the major draws to the job as the wages are low. I understand people’s need for health insurance, boy do I, but I am concerned about children being involved in this kind of protest.

Snowball Express Brings Children to Disneyland and Universal

1,472 mothers, fathers and children were flown to Southern California for a holiday trip to Disneyland and Universal Studios. The Snowball Express Organization, raised 5 million dollars to bring these families to the parks. The organization exists to support families who have lost a member of their family in the war. This is the third year for the holiday trip. Families will be celebrated with a parade and ceremony at Disneyland.
