DizNews:

Disney Denies Shanghai Project

After much ballyhoo and internet speculation, Disney has officially denied a report in the South China Morning Post that they had reached an agreement with the Chinese government to build a theme park in Shanghai. There has been speculation about this park for as long as I can remember. While there can be no doubt that Disney continues to make inroads with the Chinese government, which is very protective of allowing foreign media companies access to the country and it’s one billion consumers. While I don’t think that this means the deal is entirely off, I do think that it signals that due to the economy of both the company and the country, the project is on hold.

Pirate and Princess Parties Canceled through March

Just as tickets were about to go on sale, Disney has announced that the Pirate and Princess Parties, a hard ticket after hours event, will not be held in January through March. While there have been rumors for a while that the parties weren’t making much money, there was some speculation that Disney was offering these as a way to generate revenue after reducing park hours after the new year. We’ll have to wait and see if these parties return after March.

Disney Releases Room Only Discounts

Disney just released today, a new offer for booking made through January 4th. Value Resorts are from $49 per night and Deluxe Resorts starting at $154 per night. Some of these look really attractive. Here is the link.

Finally, a Bit of Weirdness...
The interwebs are abuzz this morning as Paris Hilton is reportedly, lobbying Disney to play Tinkerbelle in a live action movie. Ewwww....
