Changes to the WDW Dining Plan and Advance Dining Reservations

Disney is making some changes to the dining reservations system that it uses. The changes are being made to help cut down on duplicate reservations and hopefully help people to get their reservations online and with their hotel and tickets rather than having to call dining reservations separately. The new reservation system will be set up in late October; however, starting July 29th guests will only be able to book their dining reservations up until January 29th. This means that your dining reservations will be tied to your room and ticket reservations all in one rather than your dining reservations being on a separate system. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out. We should probably expect to see some bumps in the road once the system goes up in October; hopefully once it takes effect, it will be a little easier to make your ADRs for your next trip.

There has been some talk on our DizNewsPlus Group about the changes taking place in the Magic Kingdom with the construction on the Liberty Square Bridge, and I wanted to pass along what information I was able to find. The bridge between the castle and Liberty Square needs extensive reconstruction and will be closed August 15 through August 29. WDWNewsToday.com posted an article with information that they got from the Disney castmember website.

Here are some highlights:
There will be two showings of the Dreams Come True Parade each day going down Main Street and around the hub only (not through Liberty Square and Frontierland).

Spectromagic will not be shown as the floats are too long for the modified parade route.

At night time guests will be instead shown added performances to Woody’s Camp Show, and the castle shows, and more character meet-and-greets in the town square.
